This is an email I sent to the ford motor company after my Daughter swerved to miss a kangaroo and hit a tree head on at 80 klms, the stop was so hard that she tore the mussels in her chest yet the airbags did not deploy. She went to the chiropractor that after she left the hospital who could only give her the strongest pain killers they had the chiripractor told her that she had torn her chest musles and that if the air bags had deployed as they should have she wouldn't have been hurt. So if the airbags worked as they should have my daghter would not have had to sufffer in pain for well over a month.

My daughter on her way home from work had a kangaroo jump out in front of her she swerved to miss the roo and slid into a tree head off. Hitting a tree at 80 klms an hour head on you would think the airbag would go off, but it did not, My daughter tore both her shoulder muscles leaving her very sore, she will be buying a new car in the next few weeks,. My daughter lost time at work so the airbags not working cost her pain and money. Maybe you guys have a cheap factory ford you could sell her to ease her pain she was so happy when she got her BA she was over the moon as it was the car she wanted so bad, to bad it hurt her so much.

Airbags will deploy if certain criteria are met, and generally, if they have not deployed, this criteria has not been met. There is no set speed that predicates the activation of air bags.
However, if you feel that they should have been deployed we can investigate further if you would like to provide vehicle details (VIN or registration number).

I rang the number they gave me and was told that the airbags only go off under certain conditoins, so I asked if hiting a tree at 80 klms and hour head on so that the car hit the tree bewteen the head light and the center of the bonnet, I was again told that it depends on the angle.
Ford have rang me at home when I am not there during working hours so I left my mobile number, they are still rining me at home during work hours and asking me to call them, I have a prepaid and can't wait for hours talking to a machine that says we will be with you soon, Can't ford afford to call my mobile, but I suppose it cost a bit to call a mobile in australia from a call centre in india. SO DON'T BUY A FORD BECAUSE THE IARBAGS DON'T WORK WICH IS BAD AS MY SON MY WIFE AND MYELF ALL DRIVE FORDS
